             SIDNEY H. PIPE, Actuary
                   Toronto, Canada
 Sidney H. Pipe was educated at an Eng-lish college
founded in the 17th century and situated at Dulwich, a
suburb of London.
 He received his first actuarial training at the Pearl
Life Insurance  Company,  which  is  England's  second
largest industrial company.  He passed his examinations
as an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Great
Britain whilst in that Company.
 In 1900, Mr. Pipe went to Canada as Assistant Actuary
to the Independent Order of Foresters. , Since that time,
he has been engaged in fraternal actuarial work.
 Mr. Pipe is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of
America, a Fellow of the American Institute of Actuaries,
Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Great Britain,
Past-President of the Fraternal Actuarial Association,
Past-President of the Actuaries' Club of Toronto, Past-
President of the Canadian Fraternal Association.  He
was for two years an Executive of the N. F'. C. of A.
