Life Insurance for Pilots

Life insurance rates for pilots can be as good as the rates for non-pilots, depending on your piloting experience.

If you're a commercial pilot flying a passenger airline, then you should be able to qualify for the best Preferred Plus rate with most carriers assuming good health otherwise.

If you're a commercial pilot that does aerial photography, for example, then most insurance co's will charge you an additional premium due to this specific aviation occupation. We've been able to get exceptions on some of these type cases and have been able to get the extra premium removed, but it's not always easy.

For private pilots that need life insurance, that only fly for pleasure or personal transportation/business, they may be able to qualify for Preferred Plus or Preferred rates with some carriers.

To get the absolute best rate as a private pilot, you'll need to have an Instrument Flight Rating or Airline Transport Certificate, over 100 total hours flown and usually the insurance co's don't want to see you flying over about 200 hours per year and not less than about 25 hours per year. We have also been able to get exceptions on some of these criteria in some cases.

The type of aircraft that you fly, airplane, rotorcraft, glider, etc., will also have an impact on the rate for which you qualify.

We'll inquire with numerous insurance co's to get accurate offers before recommending any specific insurance companies, since there are so many different criteria that the best life insurance companies for pilots look at.

So please call us or run a quote request and provide at least your email address and then we'll contact you with best rates available to you.
