Over the past few years, American National Life Insurance Company (also known as ANICO Life Insurance) has become quite a force in the term life and the guaranteed universal life insurance product offerings.

american national life insurance quote

With no insurance exam required when applying for coverage amount up to $249,999 and up to age 65.  Healthy individuals may qualify for larger amounts without an exam.

With an A (Excellent) AM Best financial rating, an American National life insurance quote should always be considered if you don’t want to have an insurance exam or blood test, if you want chronic and critical illness living benefits or if you want one of the best life insurance plans available.

American National does also offer competitive whole life insurance and other financial products, but where they are most competitive is in the term life and Guaranteed Universal Life insurance categories.

Term With Living Benefits

American National Life (ANICO) also offers chronic and critical illness “living benefits” on their signature term policies.

So:

You could potentially get cash from your policy if you suffer a critical illness like a heart attack, stroke, invasive cancer or 13 other health issues.

You can also get a payout for a chronic illness for which you are unable to do 2 out of the 6 activities of daily living which are:

  • eating
  • bathing
  • continence
  • dressing
  • toileting
  • transferring

And finally, if you require constant supervision due to severe cognitive impairment you could also receive a payout.

They are never the absolute lowest cost term insurance, but cost should not be your only consideration and ANICO provides great value on their term products.

Great Short Duration Term Coverage

American National Life also offers one of the best annual renewable term or 1 year term rates that increases in cost a little bit each year.

This is the perfect type of coverage if the life insurance is only needed for a short period of time, like 3 to 5 years.

An annual renewable term plan can also be a good option for people who need insurance now, but can't qualify for the best rate now.

This annual renewable term plan is also the only term policy that can be converted or automatically extended to a longer duration term plan later.

You can extend the policy to a 20 or 30 year term plan without having to show new evidence of good health in the first three policy years.

This is the perfect "out" if your health does not improve and you'll need longer insurance coverage.

Why American National Life Stands Out

Below are some areas where American National Life can stand out over the other “no exam” and many regular or exam required companies.

American National Life definitely won’t make best offer on every diabetes, overweight or heart disease case and sometimes they’ve surprised us on cancer or other tougher cases.

So we always shop with them on every high risk case as we have been pleasantly surprised by their offers many times now!

In recent past, we had a case for a poorly controlled diabetic for which every other “diabetes friendly” company declined, and American National made an offer that even shocked us.

American National Signature GUL

American National's Signature Guaranteed Universal Life product can offer one of the best guaranteed level rates to age 95, age 100 or for the rest of your life.

Especially if you're looking for longer duration guaranteed coverage than what term insurance can provide.

This GUL product also includes the Chronic and critical illness living benefits that is also offered on their term coverage.

ANICO also offers a guaranteed "cash out" rider included on most Signature GUL policies for which you could cancel policy in years 15, 20 and 25 and get a partial or full refund of premiums paid into policy.

This is included at no additional charge (some sub-standard policies do not include this cash out rider).

American National now also offers a table rating reduction program so that some table 2, 3 and 4 offers can automatically be upgraded to a "Standard" rate with no table rating.

This "table shave" is available only for the following ailments/issues:

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Hepatitis B
  • Asthma
  • Abnormal EKG
  • Build
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Abnormal Lab Results
  • Moving Violations
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Hepatitis C
  • Epilepsy
  • Blood Pressure
